Having bought our boat with very little boating experience Amanda and I were in for a lot of learning things the hard way. Our first trip had mostly been a success, (except having a brand new anchor fall into the water as soon as the boat started moving.) We went back out several times and I felt like I was learning things faster than I could retain them. I slowly got better at launching the boat off of the trailer and getting it back on. At first Amanda and the girls were convinced the boat was going to sink at anytime and we would all die, but those fears quickly subsided and Amanda and the girls quickly started to become comfortable on the boat. We were soon ready for our first guests. We started out with Amanda's mom and dad and then my mom, dad, and sisters. We quickly figured out that Manhattan Harbor was our favorite spot for meeting guests and getting good food. The girls also loved Manhattan Harbor's swimming pool. They couldn't believe that there was a restaurant where you could go swimming while waiting for your food to be brought to your table. Here are some pictures of our River adventures, Summer 2009.
